An AI tutor for Karnataka State Board that keeps the SSLC pace honest

21 Sep 2026 · Jhamly

If you searched “AI tutor for Karnataka State Board” or “AI tutor for KSEAB,” you are probably not shopping for a national slogan. You are looking at a child whose school follows the state syllabus — and a report card that says 62% without saying which chapter broke.

Jhamly is an AI tutor for Indian school children. For Karnataka State Board families it is aligned to the child’s grade, chapter by chapter — the same syllabus, at their pace, with a memory of where they left off. It asks and hints before it tells. It maps a wrong answer to a named misconception. Then it shows you the actual question and the actual answer, not a chart about the work.

It is not a replacement for the teacher. AI should make education more personalised, measurable and human. We do not get to claim impact; we have to show it. Beta is free. A parent creates the account. Pick Karnataka State Board on the form.

What does an AI tutor for Karnataka State Board actually do?

A chatbot answers questions. A tutor stays until the skill sticks. Jhamly’s loop is five steps, repeated every week — the full version is on How it works.

Every session adds to a living model of your child: struggles, wins, and the explanation styles that work for them. The next session picks up where the last one ended. Most AI tools forget the child when the tab closes.

A score of 60% tells you nothing. Jhamly tells you she read the problem left-to-right, so 2 + 2 ÷ 2 became 4. Wrong answers map to named misconceptions you can actually fix: borrowing in subtraction, adding numerators and denominators straight across, sign errors in algebra. Then the tutor works on that — not on repeating what is already solid.

Practice questions are verified before your child sees them. When the tutor is not sure, it says so. During quizzes it goes quiet, so the score is your child’s. Unaided mastery checks can be labelled “home-verified.” That is slower than “here is the answer.” It is the point.

Which KSEAB grades and subjects are live today?

We would rather show a gap than fake completeness. Karnataka State Board (KSEAB) Grades 3–10 are listed. The deepest fully-tutored set today is Maths Grades 3–8 (across boards including KSEAB). Other chapters may be listed in Journey while quizzes and deeper tutoring are still rolling out. Grey means roadmap.

The chapter-by-chapter map is on Syllabus. For a parent-facing overview of boards and grades, see Boards and grades Jhamly covers. This table is the same legend, for Karnataka State Board only.

On the map What it means today KSEAB, specifically
Fully tutored (green) Journey unlocked, with the deepest tutor coverage we ship. Mathematics, Grades 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8.
Chapters live (amber) Chapter list is live in Journey. Quizzes and deeper tutor support are rolling out. Other listed KSEAB subjects in Grades 3–10. Listed is not the same as fully tutored.
Coming soon (grey) On the roadmap. We do not pretend it is here. Anything not yet on the map — including claims beyond Grade 10.

KSEAB coverage honesty: fully tutored Maths 3–8, other chapters mapped plainly

If your child is in KSEAB Maths 3–8, that is the deepest set we tutor today. If they are in Grade 9 or 10, you will see chapters in Journey; do not expect the same tutoring depth we ship for middle-school maths. We do not pretend “SSLC-ready for every subject” when the map still shows amber or grey.

CBSE and ICSE families have sibling walkthroughs: AI tutor for CBSE and AI tutor for ICSE.

Why a state-board page, not a CBSE clone?

Many “AI tutor India” pages quietly assume CBSE. Karnataka State Board families need the opposite: the same tutoring loop, but board and grade selection that matches what the school actually teaches. Jhamly is built in Bengaluru. The product lists KSEAB Grades 3–10 beside CBSE and ICSE — and the Syllabus page is where honesty lives when a chapter is still catching up.

That does not mean every KSEAB chapter is fully tutored today. It means we will not sell you a national chatbot and call it state-board tutoring.

My child is weak in maths — how does Jhamly handle that?

It tries to find why. A wrong answer usually traces to a specific misconception, not to “being weak at maths.” The tutor does not rerun the whole chapter. It works the gap, then checks whether the child can do it unaided.

Exam practice, when it is useful, is the same idea: quizzes by chapter and difficulty; after each attempt, which concept cost them marks — not just a score. We do not claim to replace school exams or guarantee ranks.

Parents who already watch for learning gaps will recognise the habit: turn a vague “weak tonight” into a named problem you can practise — the same idea in how parents spot learning gaps.

What do parents actually see?

You are not buying screen time. You are buying proof. Tap a claim in the parent app and see the actual question and your child’s actual answer.

You also get full transcripts of every tutoring conversation (there is no kids-only space), what the tutor remembers in plain language, and one weekly email: what improved, what is stuck, one concrete thing you can do this week. The walkthrough is on For parents, and How a parent reads the proof shows the receipts in practice.

Will it clash with school — or just do the homework?

Content is aligned to your child’s board and grade, chapter by chapter. Where we are still building a chapter, Syllabus says so.

And no — it will not just do the homework. That is the failure mode we designed against. The tutor guides, asks, and works through problems with your child. During quizzes it goes silent. If what you wanted was a chatbot that finishes the worksheet, ChatGPT will do that. That is why we built something else — and why AI homework help that teaches exists as a parent filter.

Is it safe for a Karnataka State Board child?

A parent or guardian creates the account, then adds a profile for each child. Children never create accounts themselves. India’s DPDP Act, 2023 requires verifiable parental consent — and we would want it that way anyway.

You can read every conversation. There are no ads or trackers in the student and parent apps, and we do not sell data. If the school also uses Jhamly for Institutions, it still cannot see tutoring chats, progress, or quiz history. That split is built into the product, not a toggle. The checkable list is on Safety, and How to choose a safe AI tutor for children walks through the parent checklist.

If Maths 3–8 is the chapter that is stuck, join the beta and choose Karnataka State Board. Thirty seconds, no card.

Questions parents actually ask

Which boards and grades do you cover?

CBSE Grades 3–12, ICSE Grades 3–10, and Karnataka State Board (KSEAB) Grades 3–10. Maths Grades 3–8 is the deepest tutored set today; other chapters may be listed in Journey while quizzes and deeper tutoring are still rolling out. The Syllabus page is the honest map.

Will it just do my child’s homework?

No — that is the failure mode we designed against. The tutor guides, asks questions, and works through problems with your child. During quizzes it goes silent, so the work you see is your child’s own.

Can the AI be wrong?

Yes, occasionally. Any AI can. That is why practice questions are verified before your child sees them, why wrong answers are mapped to named misconceptions, and why we still want students to check important answers against their textbook. We would rather say this plainly than pretend otherwise.

What does it cost?

Beta is free. When paid plans exist, we will give at least 30 days’ notice by email, as the Terms of Use require. Early families hear pricing from us first.

Can I see what the AI tells my child?

Yes — everything. Full chat transcripts, quiz history, and what the tutor remembers about your child’s learning are visible in the parent app. There is no kids-only space in Jhamly.

Will this clash with what the school teaches?

Content is aligned to your child’s board and grade, chapter by chapter. It is the same syllabus, at your child’s pace, with memory of where they left off. Where we are still building a chapter, the Syllabus page says so.

Do you cover every KSEAB subject through SSLC?

No. Grades 3–10 are listed. Maths 3–8 is the deepest fully tutored set. Grade 9–10 and non-maths chapters may appear in Journey while deeper tutoring rolls out. We do not claim full SSLC readiness across every subject.

Try it on the chapter that is stuck

Signup is a parent’s job: Google or OTP, a profile for the child, a login code for the student app. It runs on everyday phones. One parent account can hold more than one child; profiles do not mix.
